In Country is a result of my fascination with the cartography of borders, how they affect migration and the flow of tourists and immigrants. Looking at the earth itself to ask questions around the issues of land and landlessness. In Country is a series of works on paper that explores geological maps of Middle Eastern countries created by Western nations.

For this work, I manipulate and redraw borders to question how man-made divisions might categorize people and separate groups from each other. In obscuring borders, I further allude to the contradictions and ambiguities of our trans-cultural attitudes and habits that exist as a result of the expanse of globalization.
